The driving distance when fully charged in winter is much less than when fully charged in summer. Therefore, the maintenance of the battery is very important.
Firstly, in terms of charging, after returning home, regardless of the duration of use, it is necessary to charge the battery to keep it in a fully charged state. If the battery is occasionally not fully charged, it will not have a significant impact on the battery, but if it is frequently not fully charged, the battery will develop a "memory" effect, affecting its range and also depleting its service life. When charging, first plug in the battery plug, then plug in the power plug. After charging, unplug the power plug first, and then unplug the battery plug.
Secondly, start the electric vehicle to avoid high current discharge and reduce passenger travel. It is best to manually push or assist in cycling when climbing hills, otherwise it will cause significant damage to the battery. If the vehicle is parked outdoors or in a cold storage for several weeks without use, the battery should be removed and stored in a warmer room to prevent icing and damage to the battery. And when the temperature is too low, it is necessary to shorten the usage time of the electric vehicle as much as possible and charge it in a timely manner. If you are not planning to use an electric scooter in winter, do not keep charging the battery for the following year. Instead, charge the battery every month to ensure the storage capacity of the lead-acid battery and avoid acid leakage and damage to the battery. The maintenance personnel said that when maintaining the battery, remember to charge it frequently and provide more assistance.
After six months of use, it is best to go to a maintenance point for battery maintenance, replenish the battery electrolyte appropriately, adjust the specific gravity of the electrolyte, check its storage condition, maintain the specific gravity of the battery electrolyte, and if necessary, increase the charging frequency.
